This was a very competent book, and I enjoyed reading it, but I felt that too much time was spent on Brodie s internal dialogue, so I couldn t rate it quite as highly as I would like to, since I think Leigh Michaels is a very good writer, and I liked the story idea. What I liked I really liked Drew s character He s everything that I admire in a man hardworking, honorable, steadfast, loving, caring, not a pushover He was 33 years old, and he had a mature attractiveness that appealed to me You coul [...]

Re Leaving Home LM brings us a guardian ward romance and I kinda fell asleep reading it so here is the quick version. The h is the ward of the H who inherited her from his dad, she wants to marry an abusive fortune hunter until he finds out she is really poor and dumps her for a rich girl who is meeker The H marries her to save her instead and she sorta tries to grow up He has been in love with her for years, for no discernible reason I could see, but she worries she has trapped him The original [...]

It was kind of slow and the heroine and hero weren t too bright but the ending was good Although I didn t really feel the passion of the couple.

Betty Neels fans, take a look at this hero in this Leigh Michaels book Exchange his legal profession for a medical one and you d recognize this hero Drew as a classic BN s guy who just kisses better He s a competent, cool, mature, and indulgent guardian to his young ward, Brodie I liked the way he knew that Brodie s boyfriend was a fortune hunter but he tempered his objection to avoide antagonizing and thus pushing her into a hasty engagement I thought the car waxing scene was clever In one simp [...]

I liked this ward guardian romance The hero was pretty young having inherited the guardianship of the heroine from his father You knew all along that he had loved her for years but he never pressed her at all but would have been willing to let her go had the guy she found been worthy of her But since he wasn t, the hero did everything he could to protect her while letting the heroine come to her own realization that the other guy was a jerk The author did a good job of showing the evolution of t [...]

I really liked this one it definitely kept my interest and I felt like I had to keep on reading to find out what would happen next The reason it s 4 stars instead of 5 was is that I had to wait a long time for any romantic interaction between the hero and heroine, and even then there wasn t much of it But, the flip side is that there was suspense wondering when the hero was going make a move I liked that the hero s feelings for her weren t totally obvious lately I feel like the guardian ward ro [...]

Had he sacrificed his happiness for her Brodie had always counted on Drew to look after her, provide for her and keep her safe She hated to think that her dependence on Drew had kept him from finding happiness especially now.Brodie was facing heartache, and she needed Drew than ever Still, she couldn t help but wonder about the love Drew had lost so many years ago.She never dreamed that Drew s decision to remain single might have had anything to do with her until Drew proposed marriage to pull [...]

I am a great fan of guardian ward romances so expected a lot from this book But it failed to hold my interest The hero is nice in a beta sort of way but even he fails to make up for the heroine s stupidity She s simply too stupid to survive and that s the whole premise of the book Two stars for the hero though why a sensible man should fall in love with such a ninny is beyond me
